CrossRaods at Dark Lion Pass is the culmination of a fascination with board games, card games, and RPG's combined with the hobby of creating a board game to cover the gaps in the market.
I decided that it would be "Fun" to publish a game. Fun is not the right word for the experience. Creating the game was fun, publishing it was hours upon hours of detailed instruction writing and play testing resulting in 18 months worth of night-time labor.
CrossRoads was intended to bring together the excitement of full RPG's and than compress it into a 2-hour block of time that did not require preparation or a GM. The outcome was a cooperation/competition game with an RPG feel and a deep strategy element. At the same time casual gamers may never contemplate the full strategy potential and still enjoy playing as a fast-fun RPG.
I hope everyone enjoys playing this game as much as I enjoyed making it. It is truly new and fresh to the board game world. Even with all of the time spent making it I still prefer it over most other board games.
Golf... Generally a bad player with a few moments that make me think I can play the game. These hopes are often dashed within the next round of golf. Sigh...
Off-Road vehicles in general. Anything that is intended for the dirt is a plus. Thought work and kids have hindered this hobby over the last few years.
Adventure in general... In the 2007 Baja 1000 we took 5th in our class. An incredible driving experience that lasted for 20 strait hours (no sleep and no stopping).
