Welcome to Strategy Rich Games. We are proud to announce our first game release which has just arrived in September of 2010. Our initial release is targeted at the strategy board game market with the goal of being comparable if not better than the top titles in the market.
Our first game is “CrossRoads at Dark Lions Pass". CrossRoads is intended to appeal to both the social game player as well as the deep thinking strategists. It's simple to play and yet has multiple dimensions of strategy to keep players returning.
Players get to take on the roles of Fighter, Thief, Wizard, and Monk each at different times during the game. Advance your skills in each class to earn more experience during quests. The catch... you have to bid your play cards to choose your role first. Make sure to have both a strategy and a backup plan because you never know what the other players might have in mind.
CrossRoads immerses the player into the grand excitement of being an adventurer through dangerous lands while at the same time having to work within the cut-throat dynamics that would be present in a group of treasure hunters that may not want to share the glory or the treasure.
Versitile cards make the difference. Each card has three uses at different stages of the game. What cards you select, how you use them, and how you combine them with your strategy will determine how well you do as an adventurer.
Each card can be used for movement on the game board, healing, or one of two or three different combat options within a quest . The better the card the farther it will move you on the board, more it will heal you, and the better the quest options.
The choice will be yours on how to best use each card.
Do you have a good memory?
Each quest starts with a damage card revealed to see how much damage each role takes. It is not an even amount for each role type... but rest assured each role has one damage card where they are the lowest damage amount.
What role you chose may save or end your life.
Creatures are encountered in quests. Some are strong and some are weak... The creatures life total scales by the number of players in the game. It is always helpful when each player contributes to the party's success.
Success at defeating the creature in two rounds will earn the party treasures. Every treasure can save your life or help earn even more experience in later quests.
Victory is hardly a guarantee... Many quests end in retreat. Hope for the weak creatures to show up early and note that very few ever defeat the Dark Lion himself.
Weapons are a coveted treasure.
Make sure to get one to help with your strategy and backup plans. Remember... the highest bidder at the start of a quest not only picks what role to play they also get first pick from the treasures when a creature is defeated.
Victory in the game can hinge on just one decision... one treasure... one bid to rob another player of their plans.
Can you be both ruthless and yet convince others that you are compassionate? A simple trick such as that can bring you glorious victory.
Inspired by creative works such as collector card games, hex tile games, RPG's, and other time tested games we are confident that you will place CrossRoads in your top-play picks.
